safety tours
what are health and safety tours?
A health and safety tour aims to identify non-compliance or failing system and practices which will help an organisation to put plans in place to correct non-compliance, thereby improving safety culture within the workplace. Routine safety tours help drive safety culture within an organisation.
Why do you need them?
As an employer, you have a duty to protect the health, safety and welfare of your employees and anyone else who might be affected by your activities.
Implementing a safety tour by a qualified consultant will not only highlight any problems, but go on to rectify them and move forward to a safer working environment. If the inspection isn’t carried out by a competent professional, there’ll be a higher chance of errors and problems won’t be detected.
A health and safety tour will also offer your organisation the opportunity to demonstrate visible leadership on health, safety and wellbeing matters, give recognition and reinforcement of health and safety practices, provide opportunity to identify hazards and risks, such as, caused by unsafe acts and unsafe conditions. It also offers an opportunity to encourage two-way discussions on health, safety and wellbeing as well as safe behaviours and improvement of general safety standards.
What can we offer?
We will carry out walk round inspections of your site/s with the director(s) and management which shows a commitment to the work force by identifying good and bad practices, which is always followed by a formal report.
The frequency of inspections will depend on the nature of the work. Inspections may be less often, for example, if the work environment is low risk . But if there are certain areas of a workplace or specific activities that are high risk or changing rapidly, more frequent inspection may be justified, for example on a construction project. We will make this process as unintrusive and hassle free as possible to prevent any disruption to the day to ay running of the organisation.
